Victorian Smooth Froglets are small frogs endemic to Australia, feeding on small invertebrates in a variety of habitats. They are common and widespread but secretive, being most often encountered in late summer and autumn when the males give their call. A pink patch in their armpit or groin distinguishes them from all other frogs except Geocrinia laevis. 90 to 160 eggs are spawned (Dec to June) in moist areas that will later be flooded. Tadpoles can be found up to 8 months later in dams, flooded ditches and ponds.
